30 Day Harry Potter Challenge - Day 17: Are you excited about The Deathly Hallows movie or scared it won’t do the book justice.

Well, seeing as this comes a little late…

Yes, I was very excited for the Deathly Hallows part 2 movie. Was I scared? Of course. But upon re-reading the seventh book, two days before the premiere, to my delight I discovered that all that remained after part 1 was the last 200 pages. And, just a thought, if they only left 200 pages for the last movie they probably won’t be leaving things out.

And for the most part, they didn’t. There was some added lines and scenes, but you get that in all the movies, even with the books being 600+ pages.

Probably Professor McGonagall . I like her as a character, so I’m guessing I’d probably like her as a teacher. P

30 Day Harry Potter Challenge - Day 15: Who would be your best friends at hogwarts. (three only)

Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, and Dean Thomas. Or maybe Seamus. It depends if those three would actually get along or not. But I love Luna for her oddness, I think we’d compliment each other. I love Neville for his awkwardness (we’re so alike!) plus he’s tall, like me. And I don’t know what it is about Dean, but I just like him. Seriously, in every movie, whenever he shows up, my sister and I go “Dean!” He’s just always there, in like every scene, being awesome. And attractive. :)

Chamber of Secrets. Because….

1) BIG SNAKE WITH FREAKY EYES.

2) LOCKHART IS THE MOST ANNOYING TEACHER EVER.

3) THE CREEPY OMINOUS FEELING THAT ENCOMPASSES THE WHOLE THING.

4) And the whole flying the car to Hogwarts thing was just painful.

30 Day Harry Potter Challenge - Day 12: Fave ship.

Ahh. This is a complicated answer. I’m tempted to say Harry/anyone but Ginny, because we are given absolutely no reason to like her, the relationship is completely shallow and unfounded, and I don’t really understand why he likes her. It’s just weird. BUT, that doesn’t really count as my ship, I just needed to say that.

My real favorite ship, and I’m sorry to all the Neville/Luna shippers, is: Luna/Nobody.

Why? you ask? Well.

1) Luna and Neville could never work. They’re friends, but Neville ends up with Hannah Abbott, and I think they make a nice pair. That’s the kind of person Neville is, so that’s the kind of person Neville needs.

2) I really like the IDEA of Luna/Harry, honestly I do. She makes him happy, in a weird sort of confusing way, which comes across to me as rather sweet. She’s always there for him, when he needs her. See earlier post about Luna for a sweet Harry/Luna moment.

But anyway, I don’t ship Luna/Harry because I know it wouldn’t work. He under-appreciates her, they’re completely different, and so forth. Which brings me to…

3) Luna is such a unique spirit, that I can’t ever imagine there being another person quite like her enough to make her happy. She’s never had real friends before DA, and afterwards when she did, she was content to keep it like that. To have friends. She’s so young in her nature, and yet so mature. She knows what will make her happy, and she’s found it. All she needs is friends. I can’t ever see her getting married, unless some kind of Quibbler-reading Dirigible Plum growing wizard appeared somewhere on the face of the earth. Or maybe she’d marry a muggle. I could maybe see that.

Either way, my favorite ship is still Luna/Nobody. It’s like I have this vision of who Luna is, and who Luna is would never settle down with somebody. I don’t know.

30 Day Harry Potter Challenge - Day 11: What character would you say you are most like.

Oh dear. Although I’d love to claim to be like Luna, I’m not that out there. I couldn’t be if I tried. People like that are just born that way.

Oh man. This is like the impossible question.

I couldn’t pick any one character honestly, so I’ll do it like this:

I’m studious and like to read, like Hermione.

So in that respect I’m also Ravenclaw-like, so maybe a bit of Cho.

I am a bit off at times, so there’s me channeling Luna a bit.

I’m like COS Ginny, in that I don’t make friends easily and like to write things down. (Along with keeping things in.)

I’m like Hannah Abbott, in the respect that I’m soft spoken, you may hear very little of me, and I’m not in on the action, really.
And maybe I’d like to be most like Hannah, because somehow she ends up marrying Neville. And I think that would be nice.

But there’s that Angelina Johnson spirit that keeps me craving more than just marrying a nice guy and settling down.

So… That’s the closest to an answer I’ve got.

30 Day Harry Potter Challenge - Day 10: Horcruxes or Hallows

I’m assuming this question is in the same context as the inner debate Harry went through about whether he should go after the horcruxes or search for the hallows, and not a personal preference for survival. Because that’s a bit morbid. (“Would you tear your soul apart to increase your invincibility?” “No. Just no.”)

In that case: horcruxes first, duh.

Get the hallows, you might save yourself. (might)

Kill the horcruxes, you help save the whole world. But you might die trying, so… cowardice or courage? I’m sure not courageous, but in a case like this it’s worth stretching your comfort zone.

Fenrir Greyback! He is so disgusting; the opposite of Remus.

Remus doesn’t like being a werewolf, but deals with it.

Fenrir loves being a werewolf, and bites people (including children) even when it’s not a full moon.

30 Day Harry Potter Challenge - Day 8: What do you think would be your fave lesson.

Potions, actually. Possibly because it’s the closest to cooking, or maybe because it’s the easiest to understand what you’ve done wrong if you mess up because you have, you know, step-by-step instructions. Whereas charms or transfiguration, you have to worry about hand flicking movements and pronunciation. How can you be good at that? It would confuse me.

But potions, you’re cutting, pouring, stirring, and you end up with something magical, without really requiring any more magic than what is contained in the ingredients.

It’s the closest to an art form of the classes as far as I can tell, because you’re creating something. Like soup, but with a magic power. How cool would that be?

Yeah, potions.
